Scott blogs Sundance Film Festival 2009: Day 3

By  |

Day 3 here at Sundance and the weather is still pretty rocking, not too terribly cold. I forgot my wallet at the condo, luckily Pete from /Film paid for my lunch… thanks Pete. Lunch was pretty good today, we ate at Great Wall Chinese buffet which also offered up some free Wi-Fi even though we couldn’t find a wall outlet to plug into and our batteries have been dead most of the day.

I caught a couple movies early today, ‘Brooklyn’s Finest‘ at 9:00am and ‘The Killing Room‘ at 12:30pm. I skipped out on any other screenings to get some work done and hung out for a while at HQ. After the guys left for ‘500 Days of Summer'(I will be seeing this one tomorrow) I jetted off to the Yarrow to meet up with the GeekTyrant guys. Hung out for a while, they took off to go see ‘Defiance’ in Salt Lake.

Here is a shot of Holiday Village II before ‘The Killing Room’

Met a few really cool volunteers while hanging out in the Yarrow Lounge, and Jeff Wells threw down his stuff on the floor and started writing in the middle of the walk way…

I have seen some very interesting ways these guys get their reviews/stories written up. From Pete rocking his macbook in the middle of a line for a screening, writing before a screening, to other people balancing their pc’s/mac’s on walls, sidewalks, and all kinds of other interesting items.

Tonight we are hitting an almost midnight screening of ‘Mystery Team’, which should be pretty damn good for the trailer. I am definitely looking for this one to be another breakout Sundance hit. We will see, but all the guys twittered the hell out of how much they loved ‘500 Days of Summer’. I am jealous, but I will still see it tomorrow..

The premier for ‘Mystery Team’ was seriously awesome. Scott Sanders and Adrian Younge came over and hung out, then we all feasted on ‘Mystery Team’.

The group did a Q&A afterwords and everyone seemed to absolutely love the flick. More updates tomorrow…
