‘Ninja Assassin’ Trailer is Finally Here!

With the first screening of ‘Ninja Assassin’ going down during Comic Con you knew that there HAD to be a trailer for it soon, and that’s exactly what MTV got their hands on. You can check out the synopsis, immediately followed by the trailer. Enjoy.

Raizo (Rain) is one of the world’s deadliest assassins, having been kidnapped as a child and raised by the Ozunu Clan, believed by the world to be a myth. When Raizo’s friend is executed by the clan, Raizo flees into hiding. He later reemerges, seeking revenge. Meanwhile, Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) is a Europol agent who investigates money linked to political murders and finds that it is linked to the Ozunu Clan. She defies her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), and retrieves secret agency files to find out more. The clan, finding out about the investigation, attempts to assassinate her, but she is rescued by Raizo. Hiding in Europe, Raizo and Mika must find a way to take down the Ozunu Clan.[1]

‘Ninja Assassin’s Poster Has Rain and Rain

‘Ninja Assassin’ seems to have everything kickass going for it.   It’s got a decent director, James McTeigue, one for one as he may be.   Joel Silver and the Wachowski’s are behind producing it, so, you know the production levels on this thing are going to blow the roof off.   It’s star, Korean pop star, Rain, is really cool, and, as ‘I’m a Cyborg But That’s Okay’ showed us, the guy can act, too.

Today, we bring you the film’s first poster.

Wachowski / ‘Superman’ Rumor Shot Down Before it Began!

Sometimes you gotta just sit back and let rumors come and go without even making mention of them.   It was mentioned over at Ain’t It Cool News last week that The Wachowski Brothers were circling around yet another ‘Superman’ reboot.   Instead of running it as if it were pure fact, we movie geeks wanted to hold out until something a little more solid came out.   Well, that time is now.

“The Wachowski Brothers have definitely never had any talks with DC or Warner Bros to helm a Superman film. This is confirmed.”

That is the word that came in from SlashFilm.

While that combination might result in a pretty sweet ‘Superman’ movie, it looks like it is something we will never see.

Fight Choreography video from ‘Ninja Assassin’ hits YouTube

All I can say is… This is SWEET! I’m not sure who put this together (likely the owner of the watermark on the bottom-right corner of the video that I can’t make out) but, a really good job they did! Basically, this is simply a lengthy montage of behind-the-scenes footage – set to music – of Rain training and rehearsing his stunts and fight choreography for the upcoming ‘Ninja Assassin’ movie from the Wachowski brothers. Oh, but it’s sure entertaining to watch! I’ll let the video speak for itself…

First image from ‘Ninja Assassin’ …

.

So, here’s the first image from the potentially kick-a** new martial arts action flick being produced by the Wachowski brothers. This is the Korean star Rain, looking rather beat down but also pissed off and pretty bad-a** … I’m looking forward to seeing this movie, mainly because I love martial arts movies. With the Wachowski brothers producing, it ought to turn out well, but then again … I’m apparently the only person on the planet that liked ‘Speed Racer’. Image courtesy of EW.com

‘Ninja Assasin’ starts production …

Ninja Assassin stars Korean pop star Rain (Speed Racer) as the central character, Raizo; Naomie Harris (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End) as Europol researcher Mika Coretti; Ben Miles (V for Vendetta) as Europol Agent Ryan Maslow; legendary martial arts performer Sho Kosugi (Revenge of the Ninja) as the ruthless leader of the Ozunu Clan; and Rick Yune (Die Another Day) as Raizo’s rival, Takeshi.”

“Filming is underway on “Ninja Assassin,† being directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) from a screenplay by Matthew Sand and J. Michael Straczynski.   Joel Silver, Grant Hill, Larry Wachowski and Andy Wachowski are producing, with Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and William Fay serving as executive producers.”

Sounds like this movie is going to be pretty badass!
