The Fabulous FIGHTER Trailer Starring Mark Wahlberg & Christian Bale Is Here!

Coming this December, here’s the first trailer for David O. Russell’s THE FIGHTER starring Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Melissa Leo.

Count on multiple Academy Awards nominations on this film. This “Based on a true story” is exactly the kind of film that Oscar wins are made of. ROCKY…CHARIOTS OF FIRE…anyone? I’d have no problem seeing that statue in the hands of Wahlberg, Bale or even Russell on February 27, 2011.

Synopsis:

THE FIGHTER is a drama about boxer “Irish” Micky Ward’s unlikely road to the world light welterweight title. His Rocky-like rise was shepherded by half-brother Dicky, a boxer-turned-trainer who rebounded in life after nearly being KO’d by drugs and crime and Ward’s eventual world championship in London.

From Paramount Pictures, THE FIGHTER will be in theaters December 2010.

‘Samson & Delilah’ gets “futuristic” reboot from Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. has struck a seven-figure deal for a pitch to develop a “futuristic” remake of the Samson and Delilah story. The biblical sword and sandal story was first told on film in Cecil B Demille’s 1949 classic starring Victor Mature and Hedy Lamarr.

This project, which sparked a bidding war between three major studios, will have Scott Silver (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 8 Mile) writing the script and Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Constantine) directing the retold epic. It’s clear why this writer/director combo would have studios chomping at the bit to secure the deal.

“Samson” gives a futuristic twist to the story of the biblical strongman who was invincible until he was betrayed by Delilah, to whom he entrusted the secret that his strength came from his long hair.
