SCOTT PILGRIM Poster Rocks ShoWest

ShoWest in Las Vegas has officially kicked off, and, with it, comes a slew of new posters, theater lobby standees, trailers, and even reviews for upcoming films.  Coming Soon.net was on hand, and they caught a shot of this teaser poster for Edgar Wright’s SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD.

The tagline is:

An Epic of Epic Epicness

I couldn’t agree more, and this sweet poster proves it.  I’m not one who knows much about the Scott Pilgrim universe, so my anticipation for the film is based solely on the extremely cool premise and Edgar Wright’s spotless track record.  The early stills from the film were incredible and this new poster seems to continue on those feelings.  It is only a matter of time, now, before we find a trailer unleashed on us.

Check out the poster in all of its glory over at Coming Soon.net.

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD rocks the planet on August 13th.

Greg Mottola has seen SCOTT PILGRIM and says its a CLASSIC!

Greg Mottola (ADVENTURELAND, SUPERBAD) just posted a couple of tweets about SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD. Here is what he had to say:

Be very jealous of me. I’ve seen an entire cut of SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD. Edgar Wright has made a classic (again)! It’s amazing.

and he goes on to say:

I would say that Scott Pilgrim is the wittiest action movie you’ll ever see, but that’s just the half of it.

So as if there was any doubt in any of our minds about whether or not SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD was going to be badass, we can thank Greg Mottola and Jason Reitman for putting our minds at ease. Thanks fellas.

For those of you that arent in the know (you must not be reading our site enough!) SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD comes out in 2010 sometime, is directed by Edgar Wright (HOT FUZZ, SHAUN OF THE DEAD), and stars Michael Cera, Jason Schwartzman, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Kieran Culkin, Brandon Routh and a ton of other badass up and coming stars.

‘Scott Pilgrim’ the video game?!

Thanks to my bestie AJ Meadows, I have been reading Scott Pilgrim like mad to prepare for the movie that will be hitting the big screen in 2010. Well yesterday AOTS announced that UbiSoft would be making a Scott Pilgrim video game to coincide with the release of the movie! How freaking awesome is that? I always wanted to play as Michael Cera and when they didn’t release the ‘Superbad’ game I cried for hours upon hours. The only thing we know is this:   “It’s a downloadable side-scrolling old-school beat-em-up.”

Can you say Yes Please? Thanks to SlashFilm for the heads up, I love you Pete.

‘Scott Pilgrim’ Creator Discusses the Film’s Format

There was some buzz that came across the wire last week when Brandon Routh made mention that Edgar Wright’s big-screen adaptation of ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World’ would be a “great mix of real people and drawn animation”.

MTV News sat down with Bryan Lee O’Malley, the writer/artist behind the ‘Scott Pilgrim’ comic series. Â  The animator shed some light on what the finished project may look like.

“I think what he said was kind of blown out of proportion by the rumor mill,† said O’Malley of Routh’s description of the film. “It’s not going to be like half the thing is hand-animated, like they’re saying on the Internet lately.†

O’Malley told MTV he believes Routh was explaining “more about special effects and incorporating some hand-drawn doodling and stuff.†

“It’s not going to be a hand-drawn Michael Cera,† he added.

As for whether he’d be the one providing that animation, O’Malley told MTV it was still early to weigh in on his level of involvement in that area.

“I might be involved a little bit,† he hinted, “but it’s still kind of early on that.†

So, what do you think? Â  Will Edgar Wright do the comic justice in whatever format he chooses to present the film in? Â  How do you think the hand-drawn elements are going to be incorporated into the film? Â  Let us know by commenting below!

scott-pilgrim

A couple of weeks back, we brought you the first images of Ramona Flowers played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Edgar Wright’s adaptation of the graphic novel ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World’.

Today, we bring you a whole bunch more pics.   We’re still not sure if this is going to be live action, animated, or somewhere in between, but this is a pretty interesting way to reveal actors/characters from your film.
