Harrison Ford returns to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist for this highly anticipated final installment of the iconic franchise– a big, globe-trotting, rip-roaring cinematic adventure. Directed by James Mangold (“Ford v Ferrari,” “Logan”) and written by Jez Butterworth & John-Henry Butterworth and David Koepp and James Mangold, based on characters created by George Lucas and Philip Kaufman, the film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981, has once again composed the score.

If adventure has a name…it must be Indiana Jones! Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Solo: A Star Wars Story) will star alongside Harrison Ford, who is returning to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist, for the fifth installment of the iconic franchise.
In addition, the inimitable John Williams will return to score the film, continuing a musical journey which began 40 years ago with Raiders of the Lost Ark. Williams’ unforgettable Indy soundtracks, packed with all the epic thrills, suspense, romance and excitement that fans have come to expect from an Indiana Jones movie, have become as beloved and familiar as the adventurer-hero’s signature hat and whip.
“I’m thrilled to be starting a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of all-time great filmmakers,” said the film’s director James Mangold (Cop Land, Girl, Interrupted, Walk the Line, The Wolverine and Logan). “Steven, Harrison, Kathy, Frank, and John are all artistic heroes of mine. When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”
Kathleen Kennedy, Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel will serve as producers. Indy swings into theaters July 29, 2022.
Disney has announced that INDIANA JONES will return to the big screen on July 19, 2019, for a fifth epic adventure in the blockbuster series.
Steven Spielberg, who directed all four previous films, will helm the as-yet-untitled project with star Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role. Franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce.

Famed archaeologist and explorer Indiana Jones was introduced in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark – one of AFI’s 100 Greatest American Films of All Time – and later thrilled audiences in 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
The four films have brought in nearly $2 billion at the global box office.
Rey took her first steps into a larger world in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS and will continue her epic journey with Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the continuing Star Wars saga, STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII, which began principal photography at Pinewood Studios in London on February 15, 2016.
STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII, which is written and directed by Rian Johnson and continues the storylines introduced in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, welcomes back cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. New cast members will include Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, Academy Award nominee Laura Dern, and talented newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.
STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski. Rian Johnson will direct STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII. The film slated for release on May 26, 2017.
The “Untitled Han Solo” stand-alone film, slated for release on May 25, 2018, will be directed by Christopher Miller & Phil Lord, with Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan writing the screenplay.
Colin Trevorrow will direct STAR WARS: EPISODE IX, which is set for release in 2019.

Lucasfilm announced today that the trailer for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS will debut on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on Monday, October 19, during halftime of the National Football League (NFL) game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia.
The game starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT. The Spanish language version of the trailer will air on ESPN Deportes simultaneously.

The filmmakers have assembled a stellar cast, including Felicity Jones, nominated for an Academy Award for her leading role in “The Theory of Everything”; Diego Luna, who was featured in 2008’s Oscar-winning “Milk”and the critically acclaimed “Killing Them Softly”; Ben Mendelsohn, recently nominated for an Emmy for his leading role in “Bloodline” and co-starring in the upcoming “Mississippi Grind”; Donnie Yen, Hong Kong action star and martial artist who starred in “Ip Man” and “Blade II”; Jiang Wen, who co-wrote, produced , directed and starred in the award-winning “Let the Bullets Fly” and “Devils on the Doorstep”; Forest Whitaker, recently featured in the critically-acclaimed Lee Daniels’ “The Butler” and winner of an Academy Award for his leading role in 2006’s “The Last King of Scotland; Mads Mikkelsen, who starred in “The Hunt” and was the memorable villain from 2006’s “Casino Royale”; Alan Tudyk, who plays a performance-capture character in ROGUE ONE, stars in the soon-to-be-released “Con Man” series and “Trumbo,” which releases this November; and Riz Ahmed, who was recently featured in “Nightcrawler” and starred in the BAFTA-winning film “Four Lions.”
“‘Rogue One’ takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe,” says Kathleen Kennedy. “It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know. Gareth is such an innovative director and I’m so excited to be working with him and the extraordinary ensemble cast he’s selected for ‘Rogue One.’”
Veteran ILM visual effects supervisor John Knoll, who shares a long history with the Star Wars movies, dating back to the mid-1990s, originated the idea for the movie. Allison Shearmur (“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” “Cinderella”), John Knoll, Simon Emanuel (“The Dark Knight Rises,” “Fast & Furious 6”) and Jason McGatlin (“Tintin,” “War of the Worlds”) are executive producers. Kiri Hart and John Swartz (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) are co-producers.
To create the lived-in, realistic feel of ROGUE ONE, Edwards chose Greig Fraser (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Foxcatcher”) to be his director of photography and Neil Corbould (“Black Hawk Down,” “Gladiator,” “Saving Private Ryan”) to be his special effects supervisor. Star Wars and Lucasfilm veteran Doug Chiang (“Star Wars: Episodes I-II,” “Forrest Gump”) and Neil Lamont (supervising art director for the “Harry Potter” series, “Edge of Tomorrow”) will be the production designers. Additional crew members will include stunt coordinator Rob Inch (“World War Z,” Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger”), creature effects supervisor Neal Scanlan (“Prometheus”) and co-costume designers Dave Crossman (costume supervisor for the “Harry Potter” series, “Saving Private Ryan”) and Glyn Dillon (costume concept artist for “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” “Jupiter Ascending”).
Writer Gary Whitta (Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One) said on his Instagram page that Friday was, “seriously one of the best days ever in my life as a Star Wars fan.”
He and a multitude of fans at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H were treated to a special look behind the scenes of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS by director J.J. Abrams, producer and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and writer Lawrence Kasdan.
The filmmakers were joined on stage by cast members Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford to the surprise and delight of fans.

At the end of the Hall H presentation, the entire Hall H audience of more than 6,000 fans were all invited to continue the celebration and join cast and filmmakers at a surprise Star Wars Fan Concert. The San Diego Symphony performed the classic Star Wars music from John Williams at the Embarcadero Marina Park South.

On Sunday during the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim CA, Lucasfilm announced the official plot and showed a quick teaser for STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE.
A band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans in the Star Wars Anthology film, Rogue One.
The spinoff is directed by Gareth Edwards (MONSTERS, GODZILLA), with Felicity Jones (THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING) starring as a rebel soldier. “It’s set after Episode III, before IV — and a little more towards IV,” says Edwards.
The panel included Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and the Story Group’s Kiri Hart. “We’re going to be calling them Anthology films.”
The idea for the story of ROGUE ONE came from John Knoll, an Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor and chief creative officer at Industrial Light & Magic. He will executive produce along with Simon Emanuel (The Dark Knight Rises, Fast & Furious 6) and Jason McGatlin (Tintin, War of the Worlds). Kathleen Kennedy and Tony To (Band of Brothers, The Pacific) are on board to produce and John Swartz (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) will co-produce.
ROGUE ONE, which may not involve Jedis, is still in pre-production and will eventually be shooting in the UK and around the world.
It was also announced during the panel that the FORCE AWAKENS teaser trailer released on Thursday was viewed on YouTube 88 million times in the first 24 hours.

The latest trailer for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS was unveiled on Thursday with fans watching it on YouTube and Facebook more than 25 million times. The buzz on it is insane!
Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaacs as well as veterans of the original saga Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, and Peter Mayhew joined director J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy (producer) as they kicked off Star Wars Celebration and gave those assembled at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA a first look.
Now that the Force is back, it left millions of fans dissecting every inch of the new trailer. What’s with the new weapons? Who was Mark Hamill referring to? Will it be some reincarnation thing using the force? Is it the reason the force has awakened? And will Abrams include Darth/Anakin in the 7th film.
With all this evil fodder happening in the galaxy and causing a disturbance in the force, no doubt the force awakens… but you think the force isn’t gonna bring backup? Cue the charred mask and heavy breathing.
But the moment that brought the house down – Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Chewbacca’s emergence at the end.
“Han Solo appeared on the screen and there was a roar in that room,” said Abrams. “I’ve never heard anything like it.”
Kennedy added, “when Harrison said, ‘Chewy, we’re home,’ the place went absolutely insane. It brought people onto their feet. People were crying. It was beyond anything we could have imagined.”
