From cave paintings and hieroglyphics, to folk tales and film, mankind has always passed along stories to preserve the past, and in that tradition, the time capsule project asks this generation to take its turn by submitting the memorable and inspiring moments of today to give future generations a way to remember where they came from. Submissions will be selected to then be part of a short film made and produced by award-winning filmmakers David Brodie (The Witness, Survivors) and Angus Wall (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network) and curated by Christopher Nolan.
Whether it’s a favorite photo, a music performance, a diary entry or a dance, this effort calls upon the public to submit videos, photos, sounds, poetry and artwork that best represent mankind’s time on Earth.

Paramount Pictures, AMC Theatres and IMAX are partnering to give movie fans in one U.S. city a first-of-its-kind Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 (DK2) experience of Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated INTERSTELLAR over Thanksgiving weekend.
For three days during the week of November 24, 2014, the “INTERSTELLAR” Oculus Rift DK2 Experience will come to the city of the participating AMC IMAX location that sells the most tickets by November 4, 2014.
The INTERSTELLAR Oculus Rift DK2 experience gives fans a virtual first look at the new film through an immersive experience. Users will sit down, strap in, and travel in the film’s Endurance spacecraft in zero gravity with the Oculus Rift DK2.
INTERSTELLAR opens with advance screenings in IMAX 70mm film, 70mm film and 35mm film formats on Wednesday, November 5, two days ahead of its nationwide release. The advance showings will play in select theaters in more than 240 locations across the U.S. and Canada.

Warner Bros. Pictures has partnered with IMAX on a first-of-its-kind Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 (DK2) experience for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film INTERSTELLAR, which will be available free of charge for any fan who queues at the BFI IMAX for one day only on Friday October 24, ahead of the film’s IMAX release on November 7.
Following huge fanfare here in the U.S., where it launched earlier this month, the Oculus Rift DK2 will transport users into the breathtaking universe from the film’s Endurance ship, giving UK fans a virtual first look at the new film through an incredibly immersive experience.
Users will sit down, strap in, and travel in the film’s Endurance spacecraft in zero gravity with a custom Oculus Rift DK2, the first time an Oculus experience like this has been made available for the general public to attend.
The first 200 visitors through the door at the BFI IMAX on Friday, October 24, will also receive a special spacesuit patch, inspired by the one worn by the crew of the Endurance in “INTERSTELLAR”.
The public can experience the exhibit free of charge on a first come-first served basis. The exhibit will be open from 11:00am – 9:00 p.m.

Google announced today a groundbreaking collaboration with Paramount Pictures for a first-ever multi-platform pact for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film INTERSTELLAR.
The partnership will feature initiatives delivered across Google platforms, including Google for Education, Google+, Google Play and YouTube. Together, the companies are helping moviegoers connect to the film through immersive experiences, exclusive content and detailed information on how to see the film, find showtimes and purchase tickets.
The partnership launched with the INTERSTELLAR SPACE HUB, a first-ever digital initiative supporting a film on a Google domain atg.co/interstellar. As the official website for the film, the INTERSTELLAR SPACE HUB features a Space Hunt content discovery feature and a movie ticket purchasing function, as well as links to a Solar System Builder app available via Google Play.
Nolan is working with Google to deliver information about the various film format experiences provided by movie exhibitors. This initiative will provide moviegoers with in-depth information about the distinctions between 70mm, 35mm, 70mm IMAX® film and digital projection, as well as 4k digital and digital motion picture viewing.
After audiences have seen the film, they will be encouraged to offer feedback directly to Paramount via the INTERSTELLAR SPACE HUB.

The companies will also collaborate on a Time Capsule project that compiles user-generated content into a short film that will showcase and capture the magic of the current human experience on Earth. This project, curated by Google Play and Nolan, will be available early next year.
The cast is also set to participate in a live Google+ Hangout on Air, to talk directly with fans about the release of the film.
Additionally, in mid-October, Google for Education will deliver its first-ever, movie-themed lesson plans, exciting students at thousands of schools across the country about the math and science that served as the inspiration for the film.

NASA announced on Tuesday that U.S. astronauts once again will travel to and from the International Space Station from the United States on American spacecraft under groundbreaking contracts. The agency unveiled its selection of Boeing and SpaceX to transport U.S. crews to and from the space station using their CST-100 and Crew Dragon spacecraft, respectively, with a goal of ending the nation’s sole reliance on Russia in 2017.
The next exciting chapter is here – we are going back to the stars. The next leap? A mission to Mars.
