Why, hey there all you fancy boys and girls! It’s your SBFFY Melissa here  (SUPER BEST FRIENDS FOREVER, YO!)

For those of you that don’t know… I, your fellow Movie Geek Melissa, host a local St. Louis television show about films called FILM FIEND. LOTTERY TICKET Featurettes

Warner Bros. Pictures has released these featurettes, “Brandon T. Jackson Saves The World, ” “Bill Bellamy Du Rag Model,” and “Catfight,” for the upcoming LOTTERY TICKET. What would you do if you won the lottery?

Synopsis:

Kevin Carson (Bow Wow), a young man living in the projects, wins $370 million in a nationwide lottery. When his opportunistic neighbors discover he has the winning ticket in his possession, Kevin must survive their greedy and sometimes even threatening actions over a three-day holiday weekend before he can claim his prize.

Chris Columbus finds cast for ‘Lightning Thief’

Fox 2000 is developing a feature film adaptation of Rick Riordan’s bestselling children’s novel ‘Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief’ which is the first of five novels about the character Percy and the Olympians. The fantasy/adventure movie will be directed by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) and co-written by Columbus and Craig Titley (Cheaper by the Dozen).

The Greek mythology-inflected book involves Poseidon’s half-human son, Percy, who’s on a quest across modern America to prevent a war among the gods. Daddario will play Athena’s 18-year-old daughter, Annabeth, a warrior at Camp Half-Blood with Percy and potential romantic foil. — HR

Columbus has sorted out his cast which will feature Logan Lerman (3:10 to Yuma) and Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder) with Alexandra Daddario (The Squid and the Whale) as the female lead. Production in Vancouver will begin in April 2009.
