On a shoestring, they create a platform that allows whistleblowers to anonymously leak covert data, shining a light on the dark recesses of government secrets and corporate crimes. Soon, they are breaking more hard news than the world’s most legendary media organizations combined. But when Assange and Berg gain access to the biggest trove of confidential intelligence documents in U.S. history, they battle each other and a defining question of our time: what are the costs of keeping secrets in a free society—and what are the costs of exposing them?”

Summit Entertainment has released the latest casting news for TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN via The TWILIGHT SAGA Facebook page.

Summit Entertainment announced today the following have been cast in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN for roles in The Amazon Coven, The Egyptian Coven, The Irish Coven and The Romanian Coven as well as the American and European Nomads as outlined below.

THE AMAZON COVEN

  • Senna – Tracey Heggins
  • Zafrina – Judi Shekoni

Among the oldest vampires in the world, Senna and Zafrina are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe.  They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.

THE EGYPTIAN COVEN

  • Amun – Omar Metwally
  • Kebi – Andrea Gabriel
  • Benjamin – Rami Malek
  • Tia – Angela Sarafyan

The Egyptian Coven consists of Amun, Kebi, Benjamin, and Tia, with Amun as the leader. It is stated that even though they are not a biological family, they could pass for one. Amun is extremely protective of his family and fearful of Aro.

THE IRISH COVEN

  • Maggie – Marlane Barnes
  • Siobhan – Lisa Howard
  • Liam – Patrick Brennan

The Irish Coven, a relatively young group, was founded by Siobhan and Liam, but Maggie’s talent made her an important element of it. They are not vegetarian but they are civilized.

THE ROMANIAN COVEN

  • Vladimir – Noel Fisher
  • Stefan – Guri Weinberg

The Romanian Coven is one of the oldest covens in the world and they were the ruling vampire family until they were unseated by the Volturi.  For that reason they harbor a centuries old resentment of the Italian coven.

THE AMERICAN NOMADS

  • Garrett – Lee Pace
  • Mary – Toni Trucks
  • Randall – Bill Tangradi
  • Peter – Erik Odom
  • Charlotte – Valorie Curry

Turned during the Revolutionary War, Garrett has chosen to live a nomadic existence, wandering the world on his own. Garrett has never lost the rebellious spirit of his human life, and loves a good fight, always rooting for the underdog. Though not a vegetarian, Garrett is among Carlisle’s closest and oldest friends.

Mary and Randall are American nomadic vampires.

Peter and Charlotte are nomadic vampires and mates.  They were created during the aftermath of the Southern Vampire Wars, in which Jasper was a key player.  They have remained friends with Jasper ever since.

THE EUROPEAN NOMADS

  • Alistair – Joe Anderson

A nomadic vampire from England, Alistair has a misanthropic, brooding personality and a deep mistrust of all authority.  Although he counts Carlisle as his closest acquaintance, he doesn’t visit more than once a century.

About the TWILIGHT film series

The TWILIGHT film series stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson and tells the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father, and becomes drawn to Edward Cullen, a pale, mysterious classmate who seems determined to push her away. But neither can deny the attraction that pulls them together…even when Edward confides that he and his family are vampires.  The action-packed, modern day vampire love story TWILIGHT, the first film in the series, was released in theatres on November 21, 2008 to a blockbuster reception. The second installment of the film franchise, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON was released November 20, 2009 and the third installment, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was released June 30, 2010.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN Has Delivered It’s Renesmee

Like… OMG TWI-HARDS! They have finally announced who is the number one pick to be the super-child of Edward and Bella! One can only hope that she embodies the beauty that is Edward. (Sorry Team Jacob, we will try to have some news for you next time!)

EW.com has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of television shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.

Summit Entertainment is remaining mum on the issue. But to see Foy’s angelic face, which could very well be the offspring of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, check out her website.

Eddie Murphy is Not RICHARD PRYOR. Marlon Wayans Is.

marlon wayans

I have said time and time again that the one Wayans Brother that I give the most credit to is Marlon Wayans.  Sure, the guy likes to have some fun with the family now and then with movies like ‘White Chicks,’ but he can turn on the acting juices when they need to be turned on.  So, it doesn’t bother me in the least to read at HitFix that Wayans has replaced Eddie Murphy in a biopic on legendary comedian Richard Pryor’s life.

To be directed by ‘Dreamgirls’ director Bill Condon, the film, tentatively titled ‘Richard Pryor,’ is still a long way from seeing the light of day.  Most of the cast has yet to be filled, and, though Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison has come on board to produce, the film has evidently lost its distribution through Paramount and Fox Searchlight.  Chris Rock is also joining the project as a producer.

If all goes well, ‘Richard Pryor’ is expected to begin production sometime in the spring.

Eddie Murphy attached to Richard Pryor Biopic

EW broke the news earlier today…

Writer/director Bill Condon, who just completed his debut run as producer of the 2009 Academy Awards, is shopping his script Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said? to the studio subsidiaries and independent distributors around town. Eddie Murphy is attached to star. Sources tell EW.com that Fox Searchlight, the studio behind this year’s big Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire, is interested in the film. The studio, which declined comment, has a relationship with Condon, having partnered with the director on his 2004 feature Kinsey. Condon, who most recently wrote and directed Dreamgirls, had the Pryor biopic set up at The Weinstein Company but was able to pull it out when the indie outfit put it into turnaround. He initially was hoping to secure $30 million to produce the film, but that number, sources say, has dropped down to $25 million. Murphy, who has featured Pryor impersonations in his act as far back as the 1987 concert movie Raw, seems a likely choice for this role.

Appears that Eddie is making another run for an Oscar… great!! I was on the Murphy Band-wagon back in 2006 when he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal as James “Thunder” Early in ‘Dreamgirls’. Murphy devoured every scene he was in and it was a once-in-a-lifetime role. Unfortunately the Oscar went to Alan Arkin. Looks like Eddie will have one more chance and good for him!
