Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, EON Productions; Gary Barber, Chairman & CEO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer; Michael Lynton, CEO, Sony Entertainment, Inc, and Amy Pascal, Co-Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Daniel Craig will once again return as the legendary British secret agent in the 24th James Bond film and Sam Mendes will also return to direct the screenplay written by John Logan.

The film is set for release in UK theaters on October 23, 2015 and in US theaters on November 6, 2015.

SKYFALL™, the 23rd James Bond film, took in $1.1 billion worldwide and set a new mark as the highest-grossing film of all time in the UK; it was the best-selling Bond film on DVD/Blu-ray and was the most critically acclaimed film in the history of the longest-running film franchise.

Commenting on the announcement, Wilson and Broccoli said, “Following the extraordinary success of SKYFALL, we’re really excited to be working once again with Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes and John Logan.”

“I am very pleased that by giving me the time I need to honour all my theatre commitments, the producers have made it possible for me to direct Bond 24. I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time,” said Mendes.

Lynton and Pascal said, “It’s a privilege to work on the Bond films. EON, John Logan and Sam Mendes have come up with an extraordinary follow up to SKYFALL and we, along with our partners at MGM, can’t wait to share this new chapter with audiences all over the world.”

The Academy To Honor 007 At This Year’s Oscars – Will All 6 Bonds Appear Together On February 24th?

Last year Commander Bond was summoned by Queen Elizabeth II to Buckingham Palace to escort Her Majesty to the 2012 Summer Olympics. The monarch and secret agent parachuted into the stadium in London for the opening ceremonies of the games. Daniel Craig played 007 in the short film, “Happy and Glorious”.

In December the 23rd James Bond adventure, SKYFALL, surpassed $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Bond went head to head with super villain and former MI6 operative Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem). SKYFALL’s release coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Bond series, which began with DR. NO in 1962.

007’s next mission – to appear at the Oscars.

The 85th Academy Awards® will include a tribute to the James Bond movie franchise, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, the telecast’s producers announced today.

“We are very happy to include a special sequence on our show saluting the Bond films on their 50th birthday,” said producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. “Starting with ‘Dr. No’ back in 1962, the 007 movies have become the longest-running motion picture franchise in history and a beloved global phenomenon.”

The men running this year’s Oscar show – Craig Zadan and Neil Meron  – are producers of critically acclaimed and award-winning feature films, television movies, series, and Broadway productions. Their feature films include “The Bucket List”, “Footloose”, “Hairspray”, and “Chicago”, which won six Academy Awards including one for Best Picture.

As for how Bond will make his entrance into this big spectacle, something out of THUNDERBALL would bring down the house. Better yet. In a blaze of Hollywood glory, I’m hoping Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig walk out together onto the stage at the Dolby Theatre on Oscar Sunday.

The 85th Academy Awards nominations are just mere days away – they will be announced live this Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater and WAMG will be there to bring you coverage of the morning. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the Dolby Theatre™ at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live on ABC.

Win The BEST OF BOND… JAMES BOND – New Collection Of Iconic Music From 50 years Of 007

2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic James Bond film franchise, and in conjunction with EON Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Capitol/EMI is proud to join the world’s celebration of 007. Best Of Bond… James Bond, a new commemorative collection of the legendary films’ digitally remastered music, will be released in two configurations on October 9th (October 8th outside of North America). Best Of Bond… James Bond features the memorable theme songs from all 22 official Bond films and will be available on CD and digitally, and as a deluxe, “50 Years – 50 Tracks” 2CD and digital collection. On October 5th, the 50th anniversary of the release of the first Bond film, Dr. No, James Bond Day was celebrated around the world.

The 23-track single-disc edition and deluxe edition of Best Of Bond… James Bond both feature the themes from all 22 Bond films released since 1962, including The John Barry Orchestra’s seminal “James Bond Theme” from Dr. No, with striking cover art depicting Bond’s “Golden Girl” and the official 50th anniversary logo. The John Barry Orchestra’s orchestral main theme and Louis Armstrong’s love theme from 1969′s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service are both included, and the expanded edition adds several integral score pieces by The John Barry Orchestra and other original songs heard in the films by Dame Shirley Bassey, Marvin Hamlisch, The Pretenders, Moby, k.d. lang, David Arnold, and others.

For 50 years, a significant part of the excitement leading up to each new James Bond adventure in espionage has been the reveal of each film’s theme song and its recording artist. Many of music’s top stars have been honored to write and record new songs for 007, to see and hear their music brought to life in the films’ sultry opening credits and reprised in score pieces within the film. Many Bond themes have been major hits around the world. Dame Shirley Bassey’s “Goldfinger,” Tom Jones’ “Thunderball,” Paul McCartney and Wings’ “Live And Let Die,” Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does It Better,” Sheena Easton’s “For Your Eyes Only,” Rita Coolidge’s “All Time High,” Duran Duran’s “A View To A Kill,” Garbage’s “The World Is Not Enough,” Madonna’s “Die Another Day,” and Jack White and Alicia Keys’ “Another Way To Die” are just some of the evocative Bond themes featured on Best Of Bond… James Bond.

Listen To Adele’s “Skyfall”, Official Theme Song To Latest James Bond 007 Feature SKYFALL

Listen and watch Adele’s premiere of her latest recording “Skyfall,” the official theme song to the upcoming 007 adventure of the same name. October 5th marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Dr. No, and thus the James Bond film franchise, and will be celebrated as Global James Bond Day. After a 90 second clip of the track leaked earlier this week, fans and critics have lined up to praise the “Skyfall” theme, with the Evening Standard calling Adele the “Best Bond singer since Shirley Bassey,” The Daily Telegraph describing it as “A Bond song that stirs the heart”, and the LA Times saying, “Though only about 90 seconds, what’s available of Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ seems to hint at the classic Bond themes of yore,” whilst The Guardian called it “A deliciously languid ballad.”

After reading the script for the film, Adele enlisted Paul Epworth to co-write and produce the theme song to “Skyfall™.”  Adele admits, “I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall. There’s a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song.  But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end. It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I’ve never done, which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I’m 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I’m sure!”  Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, “Skyfall” features the lush accompaniment of a 77-piece orchestra.

“Skyfall” is the first recording by Adele since releasing her massively successful album 21 in early 2011. The video and song, which premiered globally via her official site (http://adele.tv) at 0:07 BST/London time October 5th, is now available to purchase as a download at iTunes (http://smarturl.it/AdeleSkyfall).

Daniel Craig is back as Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007 in SKYFALL™, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time.  In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her.  As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.  The film is from Albert R.
