In the upcoming and highly anticipated film THE LONG WALK, the RULES OF THE WALK are:
Total participants: 50
Required pace to maintain: 3 MPH
If participants fall below the required pace, they will get a warning. If they are unable to reach the speed within 10 seconds, they will get an additional warning.
Total warnings: 3
Note: Participants are eliminated before a 4th warning is called.
On Saturday, Lionsgate held a special screening where for 1 hour and 48 minutes invited guests had to walk a treadmill, called the “treadmill elimination event,” in order to see THE LONG WALK, but with a few diabolical conditions…
via The Wrap: “if you don’t keep up a pace that’s faster than 3 mph, then you’ll have to leave the theater — even if the movie isn’t over.
“If they stop, they will be pulled from the screening and escorted out of the theater,” a press release for the activation reportedly reads. The screening will take place at the Culver Theater on Saturday, Aug. 30, where a theater house has replaced all of the seating with treadmills.“
News of this screening has been reported all over the place and the genius marketing for the event has made even non-horror fans want to check out the film.
There was also a ‘Biometrics Screening’ where the audience had their vital signs monitored while watching the movie. Heart rates went thru the roof!
From the highly anticipated adaptation of master storyteller Stephen King’s first-written novel (https://amzn.to/4mqMJ1z), and Francis Lawrence, the visionary director of The Hunger Games franchise films (Catching Fire, Mocking Jay – Pts. 1&2, and The Ballad of the Songbirds & Snakes), comes THE LONG WALK, an intense, chilling, and emotional thriller that challenges audiences to confront a haunting question: how far could you go?
Starring Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, Tut Nyuot, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, Jordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick, Josh Hamilton, with Judy Greer, and Mark Hamill.
“We’re walking, we’re actually walking,” said Nyuot, who plays the competitor Arthur. “It’s something that I don’t think has ever been done, just constantly on the move. So mentally, just getting into that headspace and just staying locked in and treating every scene as if it’s new, ’cause we’re doing it so many times. We filmed one scene a day.”

Over the weekend, moviegoers saw the release of Luke Sparke’s dinosaur Vietnam War thriller PRIMITIVE WAR. It’s excellent too!
Now comes the latest battle between a military unit and a creature – but this time it’s a shark.
When their boat is sunk while crossing the Timor Sea during World War II, a young troop of Australian soldiers must find a way to survive the harsh seas on a quickly shrinking life raft. Hundreds of miles from anywhere, they must confront interpersonal conflicts, enemy attacks, and the advances of one very large, very hungry great white shark. From Kiah Roache-Turner, director of Wyrmwood and Sting, comes this uniquely terrifying tale.
Who doesn’t love a military vs creature feature – think PREDATOR and DOG SOLDIERS – and so reminiscent to Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece. For those who have seen JAWS, and who hasn’t, this is very much like the story Quint (Robert Shaw) told Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) and Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) about how he survived the sinking of the USS Indianapolis, during which sharks killed many U.S. sailors.
BEAST OF WAR, starring Mark Coles Smith, Joel Nankervis, Maximillian Johnson, Lee Tiger Halley, Sam Parsonson, Tristan McKinnon, opens in Theaters & On Digital October 10.

A huge 3D billboard in Times Square brings audiences face-to-face with a Xenomorph bursting out of the screen. In the heart of Hollywood, there are massive crates carrying specimens with full motion LED screens and eerie sounds of the creatures of the series. At the corner of Hollywood & Vine sits a full size Xenomorph on top of the largest crate guarding this precious, terrifying cargo. This activation wouldn’t be complete without a motion detected jump scare for those that aren’t afraid to get too close. This corner takeover is causing heads to turn for drivers and pedestrians alike.
When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, “Wendy” (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s Alien: Earth.
In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype named “Wendy” marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, “Wendy” and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.
Led by Chandler, the series showcases an expansive international cast, which includes Timothy Olyphant (“Kirsh”), Alex Lawther (“Hermit”), Samuel Blenkin (“Boy Kavalier”), Babou Ceesay (“Morrow”), Adrian Edmondson (“Atom Eins”), David Rysdahl (“Arthur Sylvia”), Essie Davis (“Dame Sylvia”), Lily Newmark (“Nibs”), Erana James (“Curly”), Adarsh Gourav (“Slightly”), Jonathan Ajayi (“Smee”), Kit Young (“Tootles”), Diêm Camille (“Siberian”), Moe Bar-El (“Rashidi”) and Sandra Yi Sencindiver (“Yutani”).

WaterTower Music has announced the release of the Weapons (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), featuring an original score by Ryan Holladay, Hays Holladay, and filmmaker Zach Cregger.
The highly anticipated horror/thriller from New Line Cinema, Weapons will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and hits theaters and IMAX nationwide on August 8, 2025, with international release beginning August 6.
The soundtrack is available digitally now. Vinyl & CD will be available for Pre-Order starting 8/8 through Waxwork Records. The LP features deluxe packaging that includes colored vinyl, heavyweight gatefold jackets, custom artwork, and a premium 3D lenticular cover.
Unusually for a modern production, composing for Weapons began as soon as editing commenced. The Holladay brothers relocated to New York and set up their scoring suite just steps away from the editorial and VFX teams—allowing for a uniquely fluid, collaborative process. Music was integrated directly into the evolving picture, resulting in a score that was organically built alongside the film itself, with minimal reliance on temp tracks.
“Having known Zach since childhood and played together in a band (Sirhan Sirhan), we had a musical shorthand that helped us to work quickly,” explains Hays Holladay.
“Zach really wanted us to be there throughout the post-production process, so we flew to New York soon after filming wrapped and were part of the edit for the next five months. And because we started so early, the three of us were constructing the score as the edit was still coming together. So, Zach would jump between our room, the VFX room and the edit. As a result, there was hardly any temp score throughout the process, so even in the very first test screenings, it was all original music we were making.”
“We went to New York with three suitcases full of synths, sound sculptures and samplers and built everything just a few steps down the hall from where they were creating the visual effects and editing the picture. The process felt like the opposite of working remotely – we were having lunch with the whole post-production crew every day.”
When it came to crafting the score and building the tension, mystery and musical disorientation, Ryan Holladay had this to say:
“We wanted to create a score that felt intense and energetic when it needed to be, but also captured the mystery and the longing for answers that runs throughout the story without overstaying its welcome. In some cases, it took a few tries to get the tone right. One instance that comes to mind is ‘The Flight,’ which happens in the big running scene where you finally see where all the kids are headed. We tried a few attempts, going dramatic and sweeping at first. But in the end, what connected was something that feels, to me, like ‘Ride of the Valkyries’ meets Basinski’s ‘Disintegration Loops.’ It’s very unsettling.”

When a titan music mogul (Denzel Washington), widely known as having the “best ears in the business”, is targeted with a ransom plot, he is jammed up in a life-or-death moral dilemma. Brothers Denzel Washington and Spike Lee reunite for the 5th in their long working relationship for a reinterpretation of the great filmmaker Akira Kurosawa’s crime thriller High and Low, now played out on the mean streets of modern day New York City.
In his Cannes Film Festival review, RogerEbert‘s Robert Daniels says, “Lee isn’t setting out to copy what was great before. He is using the past as a starting point to launch into what may be the final phase of his career. He is wielding a plethora of inspirations—musical, cinematic, and historical—to reunite with an old friend. He is making a Spike Lee joint. And it’s exceptional.”
Starring Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, and A$AP Rocky, here’s a look at the brand new trailer.
Spike Lee recently was on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and said of working with Washington and A$AP, “I always thought that A$AP looked like he could be Denzel’s son. They had a big resemblance. And so when you see it on the screen, it adds an element of father and son, you know? Don’t sleep in A$AP. I mean, he –Because I’m done five films with Denzel, and a lot of times, when he’s in a scene with somebody, they just get overwhelmed. This is one of the world’s greatest actors, living actors today. But A$AP wasn’t having that. I mean, they were going at it.”
Lee went onto say, “It’s a reinterpretation, not a remake, of the great Japanese film “High and Low,” by the great Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa. And my fifth film with Denzel. Went to five. “Mo’ Better Blues,” “Malcolm X,” “He Got Game,” “Inside Man.” And Denzel and I did not know there was an 18-year gap between “Inside Man” and this film. We didn’t even know it.”
