WWII: THE LONG ROAD HOME Arrives on Digital, VOD and DVD March 2nd
Inspired by director Elliott Hasler’s great-grandfather’s own experiences, WWII: THE LONG ROAD HOME depicts an escaped British POW’s epic battle for survival whilst on the run in war-torn Italy, as his wife and young son anxiously await news in England. Check out this trailer:
Completed when Hasler was just sixteen years old, this impressive debut was shot across five countries and spent three years in production.
Elliott Hasler is the UK’s youngest film director, having completed his first feature, ‘Charlie’s Letters’, aged 16 years after a 3 year production. ‘Charlie’s Letters’, screened at the Edinburgh Festival and was shown on the Brighton Big Screen alongside ‘T2 Trainspotting’ and ‘La La Land,’ received critical acclaim and was lauded by critics as a “miracle,” with Culture Trip’s Graham Fuller citing Hasler as “the next Spielberg”.
His latest film is the short, ‘To Hunt a Tiger,’ which stars John Locke (Darkest Hour, The Favourite) and was shot in Sri Lanka, following in the footsteps of David Lean’s ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’.
Hasler is also currently developing a second feature, ‘Vindication Swim,’ about the first English woman to swim the Channel.
