SLEEPAWAY CAMP Midnights This Weekend at The Moolah

SLEEPAWAY CAMP (1983) screens Midnights this weekend (June 1st and 2nd) at The Moolah Theater and Lounge (3821 Lindell Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63108) as part of  Destroy the Brain’s monthly Late Nite Grindhouse film series.

SLEEPAWAY CAMP is a classic slasher flick from the ’80’s that makes no bones about what it is: sleazy exploitation fun for all! Basically, you get a camp full of teens and jerks together and most everyone’s gonna die! Some grisly death too, like boiling in water, stung by a swarm of bees, and my favorite – the curling iron to the crotch!  The plot may sound like a conventional Friday the 13th-style knock-off, and it is, but SLEEPAWAY CAMP has one of crazier endings I’ve seen, one I will not spoil for anyone. Lets just say that if you ever kissed a girl at camp that you didn’t really know that well, you may feel a bit disgusted! This movie also has my essential nudity factor and some of the most foul-mouthed brats to ever attend a summer camp. If you’ve never seen SLEEPAWAY CAMP or haven’t in a while, do so this weekend at The Moolah. You’ll  never send you kid to camp again! Spawned 2 sequels!
