AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR smashed all kinds of records over the weekend.
The film had a global opening of $640.4 million, making it the highest global opening weekend of all time.
The film also shattered domestic records, amassing $257.7 million over three days in the U.S. and Canada for the biggest-ever opening weekend. Avengers: Infinity War followed a $106.3 million domestic Friday—No. 2 of all-time—by breaking records on both Saturday and Sunday. The film’s $82.1 million Saturday and $69.2 million Sunday represent the highest-ever grosses for those days of the week. Marvel now holds six of the top 10 opening weekends of all time, and The Walt Disney Studios holds nine of the top 10.
The international opening of $382.7 million represents the second highest international opening weekend ever posted, even without any grosses from China, where Avengers: Infinity War is set to open May 11, or Russia, where it opens May 3.
