Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, Jeremy Renner And Jason Statham All Part Of Warner Bros. Pictures 2018 Summer Preview

Warner Bros. Pictures has a slate of films invading cinemas this summer ranging from Teen Titans, to a Megalodon shark, along with a game of Tag and the ultimate heist by Ocean’s 8.

All the films feature A-listers Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Melissa McCarthy, Jeremy Renner and Jason Statham.

Here’s a look ahead to the movies coming soon to a theater near you.

LIFE OF THE PARTY In theaters on May 11

Stars Melissa McCarthy, Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, Matt Walsh, Molly Gordon, with Stephen Root and Jacki Weaver.

When her husband suddenly dumps her, longtime dedicated housewife Deanna (Melissa McCarthy) turns regret into re-set by going back to college…landing in the same class and school as her daughter, who’s not entirely sold on the idea. Plunging headlong into the campus experience, the increasingly outspoken Deanna—now Dee Rock—embraces freedom, fun and frat boys on her own terms, finding her true self in a senior year no one ever expected.

2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY In theaters beginning May 18 (limited)

Widely considered among the greatest films of the 20th century, 2001: A Space Odyssey will return to select U.S. theatres in 70mm. With 2001: A Space Odyssey, director Stanley Kubrick redefined the limits of filmmaking and cemented his legacy as one of the most revolutionary and influential film directors of all time. Originally released on April 4, 1968, the film ignited the imaginations of critics and audiences alike and its impact continues to resonate to this day. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the seminal film, Warner Bros. Pictures is releasing an “unrestored” 70mm print of the director’s groundbreaking science fiction epic. A true photochemical film recreation, this print was struck from new printing elements made from the original camera negative. There are no digital tricks, remastered effects, or revisionist edits. Christopher Nolan, a longtime admirer of the late American auteur, worked closely with the team at Warner Bros. Pictures to oversee the mastering process.

OCEAN’S 8 In theaters on June 8

Five years, eight months, 12 days…and counting. That’s how long Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) has been devising the biggest heist of her life. She knows what it’s going to take—a team of the best in their field, starting with her partner-in-crime Lou Miller (Cate Blanchett). Together, they recruit a crew of specialists: jeweler Amita (Mindy Kaling); street con Constance (Awkwafina); expert fence Tammy (Sarah Paulson); hacker Nine Ball (Rihanna); and fashion designer Rose (Helena Bonham Carter). The target is a cool $150 million dollars in diamonds—diamonds that will be around the neck of world famous actress Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), who will be centerstage at the event of the year, the Met Gala. The plan is rock solid, but everything will need to be flawless if the team is going to get in and get away with the ice. All in plain sight.

Being on Nick’s arm puts a target on Rachel’s back, with jealous socialites and, worse, Nick’s own disapproving mother (Michelle Yeoh) taking aim. And it soon becomes clear that while money can’t buy love, it can definitely complicate things.
