Aaron Eckhart and Miles Teller Set To Star In Vinny Pazienza Biopic, BLEED FOR THIS

Aaron Eckhart and Miles Teller have both signed on to star in the Vinny Pazienza boxing biopic, BLEED FOR THIS.

Oscar winner Martin Scorsese (THE WOLF OF WALL STREET) will executive produce the project which Synchronicity Entertainment, the cutting edge division of The Solution Entertainment Group, will sell at the European Film Market in Berlin.

Based on the incredible true story of one of boxing’s most charismatic and exciting figures, BLEED FOR THIS centers around Vinny Panzienza (Teller), who quickly shot to stardom when he dominated undefeated champion Gilbert Dele. A near-fatal automobile accident left him with the news that he would never walk again. After months of recovery and against doctors’ orders, Vinny returned to the gym under infamous trainer, Kevin Rooney (Eckhart), and made a triumphant return to the ring just over a year later.

Golden Globe nominated actor Aaron Eckhart, (THE DARK KNIGHT, OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, I, FRANKENSTEIN) will take on the role of Paz’s boxing trainer, Kevin Rooney. Rooney was the trainer to Mike Tyson when Tyson won his first heavyweight championship. Rooney had a major role in changing Vinny’s boxing style that lead him to become one of only two boxers ever to win titles in the lightweight and junior middle weight class in 1991. The other boxer was Roberto Duran who Vinny fought twice with victories for Vinny in both fights.

Miles Teller, (THE SPECTACULAR NOW, 21 & OVER, PROJECT X) currently starring in THAT AWKWARD MOMENT, in theaters now, will take on the role of Vinny Panzienza.

Verdi (LOOSIES, A BET’S A BET, BAD HURT).
