Vision Films Picks Up 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT LIFE With Evan Rachel Wood
Following the footsteps of the box office smash hit, TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, the creative team of Producer, Andrew Lazar (BOUND, GET SMART) and Gil Junger (TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, BLACK KNIGHT) recommence with their eagerly awaited follow up called 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT LIFE starring Evan Rachel Wood (CHARLIE COUNTRYMAN, THE WRESTLER) and Thomas McDonell (THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, PROM).
Previously, Gil Junger and Andrew Lazar brought the audience a unique insight into navigating a complicated high school life in the process launching the careers of HEATH LEDGER and JULIA STYLES and featuring a hilarious and memorable performance from JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT.
10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT LIFE is the comedic story of a boy and girl who meet and fall in love – just when they are about to kill themselves!! Their crazy shared experiences and similar emotional state forms a bond that draws them both into happiness and takes them on a rollercoaster ride of young love in a world where emotions run high.
10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT LIFE is a thematic spinoff from the original box office hit of TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU which grossed $64MM at the worldwide box office. It traffics in the same emotional discovery and personal intensity. “We are immensely happy and excited to continue to work with acclaimed actor Evan Rachel Wood in the title character of Willow” said Andrew Lazar. “She has given us a great performance as she explores what it takes to find yourself and make you happy.”
Vision Films is representing the film internationally, and will be screening about 30 minutes of footage in their suite at the AFM of some of the best scenes from the movie.
CEO Lise Romanoff said, “We are thrilled to announce that “10 Things I Hate About Life” is in the final stages of production. Evan Rachel Wood’s chemistry with Thomas McDonell is just phenomenal.” Lise added “Gil has a keen insight into the mind and motivation of people and has written something funny but tragic and yet charming and uplifting.“
Filming will re-commence in and around Los Angeles and Malibu on December 11th and be completed in April. Polaris Pictures’ Jeremy Wall arranged the financing with investor Legacy Point Capital helmed by Anne Brensley.
Legacy has recently funded the Janis Joplin bio-picture, GET IT WHILE YOU CAN, to be directed by Lee Daniels.
