LABOR DAY Trailer And Poster Feature Kate Winslet And Josh Brolin
Josh Brolin & Kate Winslet star in the new trailer and poster for director Jason Reitman’s LABOR DAY.
In his Telluride review, Peter Debruge from Variety wrote:
“In the early going, Reitman struggles to balance the competing feelings the scenario evokes. He can count on Winslet, who has long since mastered the role of affection-starved wife in “Little Children” and “Mildred Pierce,” to communicate Adele’s fragility in a matter of a few short scenes, but it’s much harder to accept that a wanted man can be as sensitive as Frank.”
Alex Billington from First Showing said:
“It’s a beautiful film in the way it handles love, emotions, complex characters and relationships. It’s a quiet film, not only in atmosphere but in dialogue, though nonetheless beautifully quiet.”
LABOR DAY centers on 13-year-old Henry Wheeler, who struggles to be the man of his house and care for his reclusive mother Adele while confronting all the pangs of adolescence. On a back-to-school shopping trip, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers, a man both intimidating and clearly in need of help, who convinces them to take him into their home and later is revealed to be an escaped convict. The events of this long Labor Day weekend will shape them for the rest of their lives.
Produced by Lianne Halfon, Russell Smith, Jason Reitman Helen Estabrook, LABOR DAY is based on the Novel by Joyce Maynard and written for the screen and directed by Jason Reitman.
The film opens in select theaters December 25 and nationwide on January 31st.
