“Soon He Will Know” – Bad Robot Releases Teaser For J.J. Abrams’ STRANGER
“Soon he will know” – Anonymous
So says the twitter account of Bad Robot (https://twitter.com/bad_robot). The mysterious video for a new J.J. Abrams project came online on Monday and, brother, was the internet falling all over themselves with guesses as to what it was a promo for.
The last time the masses went crazy for an out-of-the blue Abrams preview was in 2007 when the Bad Robot logo popped up in the teaser to the untitled CLOVERFIELD before the beginning of screenings for Paramount Pictures’ TRANSFORMERS.
I gotta hand to Abrams and his team – they sure know how to keep us always wanting more.
So what do you think? Are we in store for a new Video Game? TV Series? Movie?
In The Wrap‘s 10 best guesses article as to what the video is a teaser for, they speculate it is not STAR WARS, STAR TREK, LOST or DEADPOOL, but in fact a book:
STRANGER is in reference to a May Huffington Post article about Abrams’ upcoming book “S.,” co-writtten with author Doug Dorst, which was announced in 2011. The mystery novel is being released by publisher Little, Brown on Oct. 29
Here’s the synopsis:
“At the core of this multilayered literary puzzle of love and adventure is a book of mysterious provenance. In the margins, another tale unfolds—through the hand-scribbled notes, questions, and confrontations of two readers. Between the pages, online, and in the real world, you’ll find evidence of their interaction, ephemera that bring this tale vividly to life.”
The Wrap also included a promotional image. (http://www.thewrap.com/movies/article/jj-abrams-stranger-tease-10-most-inventive-humorous-obvious-and-maybe-accurate-theories-1117)
And here I thought it was going to be a boring Monday.
