New STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS “Kirk” Clip & Red Carpet Photos From Australian Premiere

Lucky Trek fans lined the red carpet in Australia for the premiere of STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.

Director J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Karl Urban were on hand for the premiere which took place at Cinemas George Street, Sydney, Australia on April 23, 2013. The film opens in Australian cinemas on May 9.

Actor Zachary Quinto told the Sydney Morning Herald,

“For the most part people have been really respectful and supportive and encouraging for the new movies and I like that kind of enthusiasm.”

Abrams dismissed the idea that anyone who loves Star Trek is a geek.

“They are usually very smart sophisticated people who I am grateful for,” he said. “We would not be making this movie if it were not for them.”

Even the Bad Robot visited the Aussies to kick off the STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS World Tour.
