NSFW: Robin Wright And Naomi Watts Star In TWO MOTHERS Trailer
Having it’s world premiere in January at the Sundance Film Festival, here’s a first look at the trailer for director Anne Fontaine’s TWO MOTHERS starring Naomi Watts (Lil) and Robin Wright (Roz).
The film is based on Nobel Prize for Literature winner Doris Lessing’s beautiful and heart-wrenching story of two lifelong friends who fall in love with each other’s teenaged sons. An erotic tale of misguided love and a celebration of the enduring nature of female friendship. Read an early review of it HERE.
In the Guardian’s Sundance review, Damon Wise wrote, “Audiences in Park City laughed uncomfortably throughout at Christopher Hampton’s dialogue, some of it rich with irony, some of it dreadful (“We’ve crossed a line,” says Lil when she first fesses up).
After watching the trailer, what immediately came to my mind was Saturday Night Live’s 2009 salute to Mother’s Day – the classic digital short “Motherlover“ – featuring Justin Timberlake, Andy Samberg, Susan Sarandon and Patricia Clarkson.
Fontaine previously helmed 2003’s NATHALIE, 2009’s COCO BEFORE CHANEL, and 2011’s MY WORST NIGHTMARE.
