THE DICTATOR Moves To May 16th & Paramount Pictures Summer Lineup

Paramount Pictures has released their schedule of films for the 2012 summer. Sacha Baron Cohen’s THE DICTATOR will now be in theaters on May 16th to usher in the  upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

THE DICTATOR is the heroic story of a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. Prepare for more imprisonments by General Aladeen. From director Larry Charles, THE DICTATOR stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Anna Faris, John C. Reilly and Ben Kingsley.

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (3D) – 6/8

Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Malcolm in the Middle), Jessica Chastain (The Help, Tree of Life) and Martin Short (The Martin Short Show, Saturday Night Live) join the returning cast of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith and Sacha Baron Cohen as well as the previously announced Frances McDormand. Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple and of course, King Julien, Maurice and the Penguins are all along for the comedic adventure. Their journey takes them through Europe, where they find the perfect cover: a traveling circus, which they reinvent – Madagascar style.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation – 6/29

In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Jon M. Chu, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner, from a screenplay by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe(R) characters, G.I. JOE: RETALIATION is scheduled to be released on June 29, 2012.
