’96 MINUTES’ Screening At SLIFF On 11/11
The film ’96 MINUTES’ which took SXSW Film Festival by storm is screening at St. Louis International Film Festival on November 9th, at 9:30pm in the Tivoli Theatre. 96 MINUTES is the harrowing story of four kids caught in the terrifying maelstrom of a carjacking. Intercutting between the car and the beginning of that day, we follow the separate stories of each kid – where they come from, who they are, and how they all ended up in one car on this fateful night. Their worlds are starkly divided along class lines, but their lives slam headlong into each other, becoming forever entwined, as they each struggle to survive the desperate reality they now share.
Writer and Director Aimee Lagos is a Washington University graduate, drew inspiration for this film during her time in St. Louis and the unfolding of several true events. In addition to winning the SXSW Breakthrough Performance for Alex Ross (Diana Ross’ son) the film also picked up an Official Selection for the festival’s Narrative Competition.
