St. Louis Galleria Disney Store Opens This Wednesday
On Wednesday, Disney Store will celebrate the opening of its award-winning new concept store at Saint Louis Galleria in St. Louis, Missouri. Saint Louis Galleria is the first newly-designed Disney Store to open in Missouri, providing an interactive shopping destination and magical experiences for Disney fans of all ages.
With construction beginning in May 2011, the new store was designed by a focus group of children – the architects literally got on their knees for a kid’s perspective. Disney Store’s new design aims to deliver “the best 30 minutes of a child’s day” through immersive experiences, including a Disney Princess Castle with Magic Mirror, Translucent Magical Trees, Disney CARS neighborhood, and the Disney Store Theatre, featuring the latest in Disney entertainment.
Delightfully hovering at the store’s ceilings are the noticeable scenes from the St. Louis skyline. Each Disney Store city will feature 10 – 15 landmarks. When you visit, be on the lookout for The Arch, The Balloon Glow at Forest Park, The Lewis and Clark Statue, Laclede Station, and The Old Courthouse at the Galleria store.
Each day at the Disney Store will begin with an opening ceremony consisting of a sunrise right above The Arch along with a lively musical intro. After the gates open, the first child to arrive will unlock the store with a magical key where the store will “wakeup” and come to life. Throughout the day, visitors will be able to march in the Imagination Parades with cast members down the Pixie Trail Path where each child will receive a mask! Feel free to stay for storytime or use the interactive screens to choose a video at the movie theater.
“The magic and wonder of Disney is captured within the unique experiences that await families at Disney Store,” said Jim Fielding, President of Disney Stores Worldwide, “More than a store, we’ve created a shopping destination where we will bring the magic of Disney to life every day for St. Louis families.”
Including the Pixie Dust Trail, Disney Store at Saint Louis Galleria will have an exciting array of new product lines to offer St. Louis guests, including the recently launched Disney Princess Designer Doll Collection and the new line of Wish-a-Little figurines from the Kidada for Disney Store Charming Collection. The newest Disney Store fragrance, Pixie Dust, will also launch at the St. Louis location, providing guests with a wide range of Disney-inspired lifestyle products.
The St. Louis store joins the growing list of newly-designed stores already opened around the world, including a location in New York’s Times Square. By the end of 2011, the specialty retailer will have 60 new concept stores in 16 major cities in North America and eight countries.
With each new store opening in the United States and Canada in 2011, Disney Store will donate 10 percent of the first day’s sales to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Saturday, October 1 – You can celebrate with Disney at 10:00 am for the official Opening Ceremony.
12:00 – 4:00 pm: Meet Mickey Mouse and Goofy in Garden Court. Be sure to check out the latest offers and events outside on the store’s media wall.
