Trailer for the Weinstein Company’s THE ARTIST
Against all probable odds, director Michel Hazanavicius has managed to craft a silent film of his own, completely authentic to it’s own era, but with all the benefits of modern cinematic craft and technology. Upon watching this trailer, you may see what I see, which is potential Best Picture material… oh yeah, and quite possibly Oscar nods for cinematography (Guillaume Schiffman), editing (Anne-Sophie Bion) and original score (Ludovic Bource). Add to this an incredible cast including John Goodman, Malcolm McDowell, James Cromwell and Penelope Ann Miller. And, don’t you dare let me hear you whine about there not being any dialogue!

Synopsis:
Hollywood 1927. George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) is a silent movie superstar. The advent of the talkies will sound the death knell for his career and see him fall into oblivion. For young extra Peppy Miller (Berenice Bejo), it seems the sky’s the limit – major movie stardom awaits. THE ARTIST tells the story of their interlinked destinies.
THE ARTIST is slated for a November 23rd release.
