Robin Roberts, Tim Gunn, Krista Smith & Maria Menounos Will Host “Oscar’s Red Carpet Live”
Beverly Hills, CA – Robin Roberts, Tim Gunn, Krista Smith and Maria Menounos will host “Oscar’s Red Carpet Live” for the 83rd Academy Awards®, pre-show executive producers Charlie Haykel and Juliane Hare announced today. This will be Smith’s first time hosting the Oscar® pre-show. Menounos hosted the red carpet show for the 76th Academy Awards and Roberts and Gunn hosted the arrivals show two years ago for the 81st Academy Awards.
Roberts, who is co-anchor of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” has traveled the country and the globe extensively covering breaking news events and conducting countless headline making interviews. Prior to joining “Good Morning America,” Roberts was a commentator and contributor to ESPN, where she covered the LPGA, NCAA women’s basketball and the WNBA. The news anchor and journalist will be conducting interviews with nominees from the main pre-show stage on Oscar Night®.
Gunn, who is chief creative officer at Liz Claiborne Inc. and well known for his participation on the Emmy®-nominated program “Project Runway,” will interview celebrities and comment on red carpet fashions during guest arrivals. He is the author of the New York Times’ bestselling “Gunn’s Golden Rules.” Gunn also starred in two seasons of his own show “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style,” based on his first book “Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste & Style.”
Smith serves as West Coast editor for Vanity Fair. As the magazine’s ambassador to Hollywood, she plays an instrumental role in the production of the annual Hollywood issue. She introduces readers to breakout acting talent each month in the “Vanities” section of the magazine. Smith has written numerous cover stories for Vanity Fair, and can be seen in VF.com’s “Screening Room” interviewing today’s biggest stars. She will be stationed backstage capturing the behind-the-scenes moments as the 83rd Academy Awards unfolds.
Menounos is a special correspondent for “Access Hollywood” and has served as a contributor to “Today,” “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” and “Dateline.” Menounos’s first book coming out this April is titled “The EveryGirl’s Guide to Life,” in which she gives advice on health, career, relationships, renovations, recreation and more.
“Oscar’s Red Carpet Live” will air on the ABC Television Network at 4 p.m. PT, immediately preceding the Oscar telecast.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2010 will be presented on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.
