Remote Control: Channel Surfing

Remote Control is the newest feature from WAMG, whereas you — the reader — hold the power of suggestion. Consider yourself sitting in your own personal screening room. You’re in a big, comfy reclining chair, an ice cold beer/soda pop at one hand and a magical remote control in your other. This remote control gives you the power to choose what film I watch, then write about in ridiculous detail.

Here’s the catch… you can suggest ANY movie, new or old, foreign or domestic, good or bad, so long as it’s readily available via Netflix, premium cable, or traditional rental options. With that said, you’re free to be as nice or naughty with your suggestions as you please.

I will not purchase a movie. However, I will pay for a rental on a suggested film. I will also accept films shipped to me for the purpose of viewing. I make this exception so that smaller, obscure and indie films can be considered. In addition, it needs to be something we have not covered in some form on the website. I recommend checking the website before suggesting a title to save some face.

Finally, and perhaps the most exciting, if your suggestion is selected for viewing, you will receive a “special” mystery prize! (Think of this as finding a prize in your box of Cracker Jacks.) Once again, there are no restrictions on the genre, age or content of the suggested movies, just on the availability.

So, as the title of this inaugural edition suggests… I am now officially “channel surfing” for my first movie. To make a suggestion, simply leave a comment on this post with the title, your name and email (the latter two being kept private). If you don’t supply your name and email, your film will not be chosen.

Why must you give your name and email address? If I don’t know who you are, I won’t be able to fulfill your special mystery prize. It’s that simple. I will choose from the suggestions and the winner will be notified via email and have themselves honored in the following edition of Remote Control, featuring my write-up on their selected movie.
