New THREE MUSKETEERS Photos

Summit Entertainment has released some new stills from Paul W.S. Anderson’ s THE THREE MUSKETEERS. The new photos of Luke Evans, Ray Stevenson and Matthew Macfadyen, as well as Logan Lerman as the young D’Artagnan, come courtesy of CinemaBlend. Although nothing compares to the classic 1948 film with Gene Kelly and Lana Turner or even the Michael York, Oliver Reed version for its humor, the 1993 film comes in a close third. I’ll be interested to see what Anderson does with this latest take on the Dumas tale – if anything, just to watch Christoph Waltz take on the villainous role of Cardinal Richelieu.

Synopsis:

The hot-headed young D’Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war.

THE THREE MUSKETEERS will be in theaters on October 14, 2011.
