New CAPTAIN AMERICA Set Photo

Well film fans and Marvel maniacs, here’s the first photo of Chris Evans in the full mask from the set of CAPTAIN AMERICA : THE FIRST AVENGER  courtesy of the January 23, 2011 issue of Entertainment Weekly, Previously we’ve seen Evans in a blue army helmet with a white A in the center complimented with goggles. This seems to be more of a face hugging mask . Overall I’d say that this uniform is closer to the Ultimate Universe Captain rather than the original Joe Simon and Jack Kirby design from the 1940’s Timely comic book. I wonder who the grey suited guys in the background are. A special forces unit? Prototype S.H.I.E.L.D. agents? The Howling Commandos? The Red Skull’s Nazi/Hydra hit squad? All our questions should be answered when Paramount’s release of the Joe Johnston directed CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER opens nationwide on July 22, 2011.
