The list is made public to allow individuals and companies with similar devices or claims of prior art the opportunity to submit their achievements for review. The deadline to submit additional entries is Tuesday, August 31. The 2010 Scientific and Technical Awards will be presented at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills on Saturday, February 12, 2011.

And just a reminder to all my fellow Oscar friends, beginning September 13, 2010, you can enter a random online drawing to be a fan in the bleacher seats along the red carpet at the 83rd Academy Awards. After being on the Red Carpet last year and seeing the bleacher section up close, I highly recommend it.

Registration for this drawing will begin on Monday, September 13, 2010 at noon ET/9 a.m. PT and close Sunday, September 19, 2010, at midnight ET/9 p.m. PT. Check back here on September 13 for your chance to win!

The Awards ceremony will be held on February 27, 2011, in Hollywood, California, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. For more on the Academy’s events, visit their Facebook page here or on their YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/oscars
