Madsen Joins RED RIDING HOOD Cast

In what sounds reminiscently like THE VILLAGE, Variety is reporting this morning that Virginia Madsen has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ medieval thriller RED RIDING HOOD as the mother of Amanda Seyfried’s character.

Catherine Hardwicke is directing the supernatural thriller that also stars Lukas Haas, Shiloh Fernandez, Michael Shanks, Julie Christie and Gary Oldman. David Leslie Johnson (ORPHAN) wrote the script, which is set in a village haunted by a werewolf.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way banner is producing and he’s a producer along with Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Michael Ireland and Alex Mace. RED RIDING HOOD is scheduled to bow in theaters on March 11, 2011.
