Go Nightly Into This DEVIL-ish Poster and Trailer

Universal Pictures and Media Rights Capital present a new nightmare from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan in this trailer for the supernatural film of The Night Chronicles: DEVIL.

A group of people stuck in a claustrophobic elevator realize they’re in the shit when they discover that one of them is the devil. I whole-heartedly agree with the chilling tagline, “Even bad things happen for a reason” and that alone makes me even more excited for this horror film from directors and brothers John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle (QUARANTINE). The credits may have these two guys listed as the film’s directors, but make no mistake, DEVIL is M. Night Shyamalan’s film…even down to his regular crew. I was extremely pleased to see his cinematographer from THE SIXTH SENSE and SIGNS, the great Tak Fujimoto, at the helm once again. And we all know horror is what Night does best, so his return to the genre, and hopefully a twist ending, should be greeted with more than just a passing glance.

Starring Chris Messina, Geoffrey Arend, Logan Marshall-Green, Bojana Novakovic, Jenny O’Hara, Bokeem Woodbine, Jacob Vargas, with the story by M. Night Shyamalan and screenplay from Brian Nelson (HARD CANDY, 30 DAYS OF NIGHT,) Universal Pictures will release DEVIL in theaters on September 17, 2010.
