Shyamalan’s THE LAST AIRBENDER Moves Up to July 1st Release Date
Good news to share with my fellow M. Night fans. Yes, there are still many of us around. From producer Frank Marshall, via Twitter, comes the official word that THE LAST AIRBENDER will be in theaters a day earlier.
“1st exhibitor screening for AIRBENDER goes extremely well…LAST AIRBENDER release date moves up to July 1st…”
Which is a Thursday and only a day after the June 30th opening of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. Wow! What a July 4th Holiday movie weekend this will be. THE LAST AIRBENDER will most likely do well with male audiences and ECLIPSE with (present company excepted) women. Paramount will try to do its best with the long holiday weekend.
Synopsis:
Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara (Nicola Peltz), a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), to restore balance to their war-torn world. Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live-action feature film THE LAST AIRBENDER is the opening chapter in Aang’s struggle to survive.
From Paramount Pictures, M. Night Shyamalan’s THE LAST AIRBENDER will be in theatres in Real-D, Digital 3D, and 2D on July 1st, 2010.
