2010 BAFTA Awards: THE HURT LOCKER Cleans Up

Here’s the list of the official winners from Sunday evening’s Orange British Academy Film Awards. THE HURT LOCKER took home six of the eight categories they were nominated for – Best Film, Best Director, Original Screenplay, Sound, Editing, and Cinematography. Kathryn Bigelow became the first woman to win the BAFTA Director.

In a bit of a shock, BAFTA announced that HRH Prince William would succeed Lord Attenborough as the Academy’s fifth President. In his first formal act as President, Prince William along with Uma Thurman, presented the actor Vanessa Redgrave with a British Academy Fellowship. An understandably emotional Redgrave said, “You’ve done me in.”
