Singer Is On For XMEN ORIGINS: FIRST CLASS!
I absolutely love Bryan Singer’s two XMEN films. The second of the two is undoubtedly one of the greatest superhero films to date. I was thrilled to read earlier this evening from multiple sources that Singer announced that he would be helming the upcoming XMEN ORIGINS: FIRST CLASS film after he finishes a film called JACK THE GIANT KILLER for WB. The news broke at tonight’s AVATAR Blue Carpet event when singer spoke to news reporters and said:
I’m prepping up to do a movie called Jack the Giant Killer (at) Warner Brothers, and I just yesterday signed a deal to do an X-Men First Class Origins picture, which is kind of cool.
I love how he just says, that’s kind of cool….Such a cool chap eh? FIRST CLASS will primarily focus on the early days of Xavier’s school for mutants and play as a sort of compliment piece to this past year’s lackluster XMEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. I am very excited that this is the case because as I previously mentioned, Singer knows his XMEN.
Check out the archived video from USTREAM where Singer made the announcement: (skip to the marker to see Singer’s portion)
Should be very very awesome! He states too in the video that they are already employing some of the new technology showcased in AVATAR. Any thoughts on what we might see in this next film? 3D? Mo-cap? What do you guys think?
Thanks to /Film for the heads up on the video!
