Morpheus Plans to Take on Some PREDATORS

When the initial cast list was presented for the upcoming PREDATOR sequel directed by Nimrod Antal and produced by Robert Rodriguez, it had more than a few people retitling the film WVP (WIMP VS. PREDATOR).   Evidently, Adrien Brody and Topher Grace didn’t inspire confidence in the film’s ability to present bad-ass action.   Hopefully, with today’s news, that sentiment about the film is about to change.

Collider is reporting from a set visit on the Austin-based production, that Laurence Fishburne has joined the cast of elite warriors who are taken to the Predator home planet for some “home field advantage” slaughtering.   It doesn’t tell us much about what his character is all about, but the character’s name is Noland.

I would have to say this presents some good news in the Antal/Fishburne relationship that Laurence Fishburne has now been in the last two Nimrod Antal films, ARMORED being the other one.   It is also good news for the film, as Laurence Fishburne, regardless of project, always brings it full force.

PREDATORS is currently shooting in Austin.   The film is looking at a July 7th, 2010 release date.
