Michael Bay Announces TRANSFORMERS 3 Release Date

Indiscernible robots punching and kicking each other round 3 will be hitting our movie theaters sooner than we may think.  Michael Bay announced via his official blog that not only is ‘Transformers 3’ coming, but a release date is set.  That date would be July 1st, 2011.

But, don’t take our word for it.  Read it straight from the man himself:

Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I’m flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

Awwww.  Ain’t that sweet.  He’s already begun the “hitting on Megan” phase.

Seriously, as if there wasn’t reason enough for concern about this film, hearing that he and screenwriter Ehren Kruger are meeting with Hasbro to talk about characters twists my nerves, as it should any lover of movies, really.  How about a story first?  Can we deal with a solid story before we begin talking about the latest, goofy Autobots that are going to be either annoying us or beating the crap out of goofy Decepticons?

Anyway, I guess ‘Transformers 3’ is hitting on July 1st.
