You Know, Mark Millar, Sequelitis Is Not ‘Kick-Ass’
I’m guessing this news is warranted, that a sequel to ‘Kick-Ass’ works out well with the story Mark Millar has crafted. It just seems too much like sequelitis when they are already announcing a follow-up, as well as a potential shoot-date.
Millar, the writer/creator behind the comic series, spoke with MTV about sequel opportunity for the Matthew Vaughn-directed, superhero movie.
There’s a basic plot. The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too.
Millar also claims the sequel will begin shooting “within two years” and that it already has a premise. There is no word on whether Vaughn or ‘Kick-Ass’ screenwriter, Jane Goldman, will be returning.
We don’t want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good. It didn’t cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one.
‘Kick-Ass,’ the first one, comes out on April 13th, 2010.
