Full Trailer for Disney’s ‘Princess and the Frog’

Walt Disney has released the new trailer for their latest 2D animated feature, ‘The Princess and the Frog.’   While Disney’s 2D offerings haven’t been up to snuff in recent years (anyone remember ‘Chicken Little’?), you always have to hold out hope that a little bit of PIXAR’s wondrous storytelling tactics might rub off on the rest of the company.   As far as the animation goes, Disney hasn’t lost one step in their hand-drawn department.

Add to the project the fact that the film sees the return of Ron Clements and John Musker.   Sure, they were the directing team behind ‘Treasure Planet,’ another forgettable, hand-drawn effort from Disney.   But, if you go further back, you’ll find these two were also behind ‘The Great Mouse Detective,’ ‘The Little Mermaid,’ ‘Aladdin,’ and ‘Hercules.’   While that last film might not be as revered in people’s minds as the other three, it is still considered   classic in the era of Disney, hand-drawn animation.   With these films under their belt, their work on ‘The Princess and the Frog’ is sure to turn more than a few heads.

‘The Princess and the Frog’ is set for release in New York and Los Angeles on November 25th.   It opens nationwide on December 11th.
