‘Oobermind’ Cast Grows by 4-1=3
DreamWorks may have a sure winner in the works with their newest CGI ainimated tale OOBERMIND. The story follows suit with the success of Pixar’s THE INCREDIBLES and deals with superheroes… and supervillains. The project is being directed by Tom McGrath (Madagascar).
Whereas Robert Downey, Jr. was originally attached to to play the title role as a super-villain, he has since left the project (a great loss) and been replaced by Will Ferrell. Talented in his own right, I don’t picture Ferrell as a super-smart super-villain. Regardless, the rest of the cast is super enough on it’s own…
Already attached, Tina Fey will play the reporter who is trying to keep up with the city’s mess of superheroes. The cast will also include Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill.
PLOT: “…a supervillain who imagines all his dastardly dreams coming true after defeating good-guy rival Metro Man (Pitt), only to find life quite boring without an adversary. To fill the void, Oobermind creates a new superhero, Titan (Hill), who also wants to be bad, forcing Oobermind to switch sides.” — Variety
OOBERMIND looks promising and, with it’s cast should be quite entertaining. Ferrel may not be right for the role, in my mind, but he’s still a funny guy. The film is tentatively scheduled for release on November 5, 2010.
