Karl Urban Cast as Villain in ‘Priest’

One of the more anticipated movies in development, adapted from a graphic novel, is PRIEST and now the film has it’s villain. New Zealander Karl Urban (Star Trek, Pathfinder) has been cast as the “bad guy” in the post-apocalyptic horror/thriller from Screen Gems.

“Priest” is set in a world ravaged by war between man and vampires. Paul Bettany stars as a warrior priest and vampire fighter who teams with a sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and warrior priestess (Maggie Q) to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece. — HR

Urban will play a character called Black Hat, the leader of a band of vampires who considers himself a God. Black Hat was once a priest, but has turned against mankind. The film is being directed by visual FX guy turned director Scott Stewart. This is looking like a VERY good thing, as Stewart’s feature film debut will be LEGION, which the recently revealed red-band trailer shows is going to be epic.
