Adaptations
‘Where the Wild Things Are’ Going IMAX
The wild things are going to be huge. In fact, they are going to be bigger than previously expected. It was announced on Wednesday night at a special event held at the San Diego Comic Con that Spike Jonze’s adaptation of ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ is going to be getting an IMAX release. The IMAX release will be the same day as the film’s conventional release on October 16th.This is surprising considering it is Warner Bros. releasing ‘Where the Wild Things Are.’ Warner Bros. has a long-standing relationship with IMAX. The ‘Batman’ and ‘Harry Potter’ franchises have been running in IMAX theaters for years on end. ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ looks to be one of the most anticipated film of the Fall movie season, and IMAX is smart to want it running in their larger-than-life theaters.
The film will be digitally re-mastered for the IMAX screens. It is set for release on October 16th.
