‘Voltron’ Movie Ready to Form

From days of long ago, from uncharted regions of the universe, comes a legend; the legend of Voltron, Defender of the Universe, a mighty robot, loved by good, feared by evil.   Yes, fans, we’re talking about a ‘Voltron’ movie finally coming together.The producers behind ‘Get Smart’ and ‘The Dark Knight,’ Charles Roven, Richard Suckle and Steve Alexander, have acquired the rights to make a live-action feature film adaptation of the classic, cartoon series.   They obtained rights from the St. Louis-based World Events Productions, a company that has held the rights to the property for more than two decades.

Roven, Suckle, and Alexander replace Mark Gordon whose company has tried for the past, few years to get a ‘Voltron’ film off the ground.   Gordon’s last attempt came when he brought screenwriter Justin Marks (‘Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li’) on board.   Marks’ screenplay centered around an alien invasion in an apocalyptic North America.

So far, no word has come as to this new group’s take on the film, though it is likely they will disregard Marks’ screenplay completely.
