‘The Strangers 2’ Set to Shoot in the Fall

Honestly, I gotta say this bit of news came a lot later than expected.   ‘The Strangers’ came out May of 2008, it cost $9 million, and it made $52 million in domestic.   ‘The Strangers 2’ should have been fast-tracked with Rogue Pictures throwing all kinds of cash in Bryan Bertino’s direction to get the writer/director back on board.

Instead, the news comes out today, nearly 14 months later, that ‘The Strangers 2’ is set to begin shooting this coming Fall.   What’s more, it doesn’t appear Bertino will be returning.   Instead, French director Laurent Briet will be filling the director’s chair.   This will be his first feature film, as he has previously worked on music videos and special effect for ‘The Ring.’

Bertino will be returning as screenwriter for the sequel.   Rumors are that Liv Tyler will be returning to reprise her role from the first film, but nothing has been confirmed.
