First of all, don’t worry.   Stop your grieving.   Put down the tissues and turn off the Morrissey.   Rupert Grint is okay.   He is fully recovered, and he even will be in attendance at this week’s ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ red carpet premiere.

Now, having got that out of the way, the 20-year-old actor who adoring fans know as Ron Weasley did contract the A(H1N1) virus, also known as Swine Flu.   His publicist confirmed on Saturday that he had been suffering from the illness and that he had taken some time off of filming the final chapter in the ‘Harry Potter’ saga, ‘The Deathly Hallows,’ to recover.

“It was quite scary when I first found out I had swine flu,” he said at a press conference in London.

“I thought ‘Am I going to die?’ But it was just like any other flu really.”

“I had a sore throat and I went to bed for a few days.”

There have been nearly 7500 cases of Swine Flu reported in the UK making it the country with the highest number in Europe.   There have been four reported deaths from the virus, but none of them have ever starred in a ‘Harry Potter’ film, so who cares, right?

‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ comes out in the United States on July 15th.   The UK premiere for the film is tomorrow night, July 6th, in London.
