Fredrik Bond selected to direct ‘Hack/Slash’
The big screen adaptation of Rogue’s popular “mature-content” cult horror comic book ‘HACK/SLASH‘ has gotten it’s director. The project will be helmed by commercial director Fredrik Bond.
The plot outline: “Hack/Slash,” created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli, centers on Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. Hack not only survived, she has become a killer of killers and travels to small towns across the country hunting slashers in the vein of “Halloween’s” Michael Myers, “Friday the 13th’s” Jason Voorhees and “A Nightmare on Elm Street’s” Freddy Krueger. She is partnered on her journey with Vlad, a hulking companion who serves as her protector. — HR
So, it’s disclaimer time. I once attempted to get into the ‘HACK/SLASH’ comic book. I picked up a couple issues one day at a local shop and, after sitting down and spending some time with them, I determined I’m not really a fan of the books.
With that said, it doesn’t mean I’m not pumped about the movie. In fact, I’m very excited to see what they do with this adaptation. Even though I didn’t find the books to be to my liking, it was due mostly to the approach and style, not the story. In fact, I think it’s a very cool concept and a decent story. Maybe I’ll try reading them again once it hits trade.
