Final ‘Jennifer’s Body’ Poster Gives Us a “Hell Yes!”
Other than the presence of Megan Fox and the fact that it was written by Diablo Cody, there really hasn’t been much out of ‘Jennifer’s Body’ that has made me want to run out and watch it. Even Fox only has sex appeal to offer, nothing that would convince any of us that she chooses decent projects. In fact, the previous poster for ‘Jennifer’s Body’ was so similar to the promo posters for HBO’s “True Blood” that you couldn’t really appreciate it for how cool it was.
However, as “been there done that” as that poster was, it still has more to offer than the final one-sheet for the film.
The “Hell Yes!” on the blackboard is a nice touch, and it’s good to see Amanda Seyfried getting top billing alongside Fox. However, the design is goofy, the hand coming out of the desk looks like Thing from the “Addams Family,” and, to be honest, that doesn’t even look like Megan Fox. It looks like an airbrushed Mila Kunis. And, really, when it comes to this film, dos it even matter that the writer won an Academy Award? I’m sure thirteen-year-old boys across America had no intentions of checking this movie out opening night until they saw that the person behind the script had an Oscar on their mantle.
“Hey, Kyle, you wanna check out that new horror flick starring Megan Fox?”
“Screw that, Brad. Let’s go see the new Michael Moore documentary. That Megan Fox is hot and all, but there’s no substance behind her. I bet the movie is trifling at best.”
“But, Kyle, it was written by the girl who wrote ‘Juno.'”
“Diablo Cody?”
“Hell, yeah, dude!”
“Dude, I am so there!”
Yeah, I don’t see it going down that way.
