‘Indecent Proposal’

I hadn’t seen this movie since I was in the my teens and its amazing how well it still holds up. Based during a recession, David (Woody Harrelson) and Diana (Demi Moore) are a happily married couple who are about to lose everything. They go to Vegas in hopes of winning big and being able to salvage whats left of their financial well being.

While in Vegas Diana catches the eye of John Gage (Robert Redford) who is a billionaire in Vegas to do some high roller gambling. He quickly becomes obsessed with having Diana for himself and gives a “proposal” to them of $1,000,000 for one night with her. They immediately turn it down, but after a long night of thinking how much the money could change their lives they decide to go through with it.

You can imagine how the rest of the story goes, and if you cant then you need to go out and pick this Blu-Ray up for yourself. Unfortunately there isn’t any new content from the DVD release, but I cant imagine they would have a bunch of extra footage laying around that they haven’t already released.

The image quality isn’t exactly what you would expect from a Blu-Ray release, but it is an improvement over the DVD release, and the sound is pretty crisp.

‘Fatal Attraction’

What happens when you cheat on your wife with a clients employee? Well Michael Douglas finds that out pretty quickly, and it doesn’t end well. This movie came out during that the 10 year period that Michael Douglas was having lots of sex with all the A list women in Hollywood.

When a new editor comes on board for the agency that his law firm represents he is immediately drawn to her. They flirt at a party, have dinner the next night and it turns into a one (or two) night stand. When its time for his wife to be back into town Daniel (Douglas) tries to sever the ties with Alex (Glen Close) which pushes her over the edge. She cuts her wrists in an attempt to guilt him into staying, which in turn just freaks him out.

After trying to distance himself from her, she becomes more obsessed and eventually starts to stalk Daniel. He tries to go to the police but they cant do anything because they have no “cause” to put the restraining order on her. Alex then goes after his wife and daughter in an attempt to get them out of the way so they can be together.

The image quality on the blu-ray is pretty good despite its age and how it was originally shot, but you can still see the graininess of certain scenes but the sound makes up for some of the image quality. There aren’t any special features that you cant get on the special edition DVD which came out in 2007 but its still nice to have this release on Blu-Ray as opposed to the DVD quality.
