Richard Jenkins Joins Julia Roberts for ‘Eat, Pray, Love’

Richard Jenkins, fresh off his Oscar nomination for ‘The Visitor,’ has signed on to star opposite Julia Roberts in the drama ‘Eat, Pray, Love.’Â   The film will be written and directed by Ryan Murphy (‘Running with Scissors’) and based on the bestselling novel by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Roberts will be starring as a married woman who goes on a journey of self-discovery after attempting to get pregnant.   Jenkins will be stepping into the role of a Texan whom the woman runs into at an Indian ashram.

Filming begins in July with a tentative release for some time in 2011.
