Director
Oliver Stone Up for ‘Wall Street 2’
In this day and age of ’80s-movie-remake frenzy, it’s actually a breath of fresh air to hear that a filmmaker is going back to revisit his or her characters from that time period. Â And so it goes with Oliver Stone, who has, today, signed a deal to direct a follow-up to his 1987 film, ‘Wall Street.’ Â
Michael Douglas is set to reprise his role as Gordon Gekko, the highly successful broker who takes a young, inexperienced trader, played by Charlie Sheen, under his wing of greed and backstabbing. Â Early word on the sequel is that the story will follow Gekko’s attempt at teaching and corrupting another young stock broker. Â None other than Mutt Williams himself, Shia LaBeouf, is in talks to take on that role.
Stone is looking to begin production on the sequel some time over the Summer.
