‘Iron Man 2’ Gains a Couple of Garys

Yeah, sometimes we jump the gun on these things.   Evidently, Gary Oldman is not in ‘Iron Man 2,’ he wasn’t on the ‘Iron Man 2’ set, he’s nowhere near Los Angeles this week, he’s never even picked up an ‘Iron Man 2’ comic.   Okay, that last part, I can’t confirm, but the rest of this update is true.   A man claiming to be Oldman’s manager contacted a few others sites and explained that Oldman will not be in the film.

So, there you have it.   Gary Oldman will NOT be in ‘Iron Man 2.’   Shandling, on the other hand, is in the film.

It was revealed earlier in the week that Gary Shandling had joined the cast of ‘Iron Man 2,’ and his spotting on set confirmed that news.   Shandling is playing the role of Senator Stern in the first scene of the new film, which will serve as a continuation of the final scene of the first film.

Well, celeb spotters noticed another Gary on set yesterday.   Gary Oldman was seen on the ‘Iron Man 2’ set.   No word yet on who the once-Commissioner Gordon will be playing in the film, but IESB is hearing that it could be Howard Stark, Tony’s father.   That role was once rumored to be filled by Tim Robbins, but those ended up being just that.
